2024 Concordia Fishing Derby: Off the Hook!
Concordia’s 2024 Fishing Derby for Kids welcomed over 500 guests to the beautiful Saxony Farm Lake. A rainy and muddy morning gave way to a sunny afternoon, setting the tone for a fun day of biting fish and community fellowship.
Prizes were given out every half hour for the largest and smallest catch, and three lucky kids went home with a grand prize of a bicycle or hoverboard!
Special thanks to our friends at Sprankle’s Neighborhood Markets for their snack and beverage donation, pre-event promotion on social media and volunteer help. Doug Sprankle in particular went above and beyond to help the Concordia team in pulling 14 cars out of the mud! Many thanks again, Doug – we’re grateful to have a community friend like you, who can help an event go off “without a hitch”!
We also want to give a huge THANK YOU to all our volunteers, including the many Concordia employees, residents and family members, Saxonburg Fire Police and sponsors, who made a beautiful day even better for our guests! And of course, thank you to our generous sponsors as well!
